ABOUT

Breathing life into the nostalgic sounds of shoegaze and dream pop, Kaurna Land / Adelaide based outfit Sunsick Daisy quickly captured audiences with their effortless energy and genre-diverse sound.

Since their debut single ‘Someone Like You’ placed them as Triple J Unearthed High finalists in 2022, Sunsick Daisy have been unstoppable - selling out several headline shows and sharing stages with the likes of The Lemonheads (USA), Feeder (UK), Ball Park Music, The Buoys and more.

Singles ‘I’m Coming Home’ and ‘Underwater’ paved the way for their debut EP, ‘Breathe In… Breathe Out’ in 2023. The release received acclaim from triple J and premiere US radio station KEXP, where it was added to rotation and peaked at #49 in their Top 90 charts. From the cathartic build up of ‘Faith’ to the frenzied defiance of ‘I’m Fine’, the EP is a journey of love, loss, self-doubt and perseverance.

The widely acclaimed ‘It’ll Be Alright’ from the band’s 2025 sophomore EP ‘Yonder’ earned rotation on KEXP and triple j Unearthed as well as receiving heavy airplay on triple j and community radio across Australia. The EP was praised by Rolling Stone, Happy Mag, The Music, Backseat Mafia and more, as well as being added to a slew of playlists like Adrenaline, All New Rock and Surf Rock Sunshine on Spotify and New Music Daily and Heaps Indie on Apple Music.

Following a huge run of headline tours and support slots across the country, Sunsick Daisy have solidified themselves as one of the country’s most exciting young live bands - performing to packed rooms at BIGSOUND and earning a slot on the 2025 Harvest Rock Festival lineup alongside The Strokes, The War On Drugs, Vance Joy and more.

With new bassist Ella Phillips joining founding members Kane Gabell and Sarah Grainger, the next era of Sunsick Daisy is quickly shaping up to be their most inspired yet. Leading with new single ‘Pale Blue’ - a hazy, psychedelic ode to digital love - Sunsick Daisy emerge with a revitalised, confident energy that continues to evolve their cascading, signature wall of sound.

"Waiting For"

Blending the band’s hazy, reverb-drenched style of songwriting with a tinge of country-infused heartache, ‘Waiting For’ captures the emotional tension of trying to define a relationship. Led by the dreamy vocal combination of Kane Gabell and Sarah Grainger, the track swells through walls of dense guitar work before opening into a chorus that could be taken from a 2000s coming-of-age film - nostalgic, yearning and infectious.

“‘Waiting For’ is a story of a situation-ship in which two people are caught up in a push & pull of emotions and how they deal with it,” explains Kane. “While on tour, I listened to a lot of (country singer) Glen Campbell in the back of the car. I loved the way he would tell stories through his music and it was definitely an inspiration for this.”

Building on the bold new era introduced with October single, ‘Pale Blue’, ‘Waiting For’continues to expand Sunsick Daisy’s colourful, eclectic sound, while keeping their signature atmospheric shoegaze at the centre. The track is a magnetic standout in the band’s ever-growing catalogue - a wistful, weightless release grounded by the commanding tones of bassist Ella Phillips and Kane and Sarah’s intertwining, mesmerising harmonies.
